Do I need a visa to work in New Zealand?

Yes! To work in New Zealand you will need to secure a working holiday visa. To find out if your home country has a working holiday agreement with New Zealand we would recommend you visit New Zealand Immigration.

Do I need a bank account in New Zealand?

Since your planning on working in New Zealand you will definitely need a place to put your hard earn pay cheques. Most employers will pay directly into your bank account, so you definitely need to have one. On the Work New Zealand program we assist with setting up a bank account – we can even pre activate it before you arrive!

What do I get on the Work New Zealand program?

How much money do you need for a working holiday in New Zealand?

To get a working holiday visa for New Zealand you will be required to have a set amount of proof of funds, which essentially means savings! The amount depend on which country you reside from.

How do I get a tax number in New Zealand?

Our team at Work New Zealand will help you setup your tax number so you can be taxed correctly in NZ from day one. You will be required to provide this to every employer you have in NZ.

Will my mobile phone work in New Zealand?

Yes! You will just need a new SIM card, which you get for free on the Work New Zealand program.

Does New Zealand have free health care?

Unfortunately there is no free healthcare in New Zealand. There is a cost to seeing a doctor if you are sick. Usually it ranges from $50 to $100 per visit. Prescriptions, if needed, are of extra cost.

How will I find a job?
